2007 already! Staff & Management Committee members at the Centre look forward to spending some of it with you…
As we welcome our new Luncheon Club chef, Nicholas Reader, we must thank outgoing chef Cecilia Mitchell for two years of excellent food and innovation. The Centre intends to expand attendance at the Luncheon Club by working in partnership with other local organisations such as Highgate Newtown Neighbourhood Care Scheme and partnership, the Stroke Association, and so on, and by arranging transport. It is intended that Wednesdays at the Centre will be dedicated to disabled and older people, with exercise, leisure and educational activities. Computer users over 50 will have priority in the Learning Centre in the middle of the day.
The Spring ’07 timetable is on the downloads page. New members are welcome to Centre activities: Why not try: Relaxercise (11.30) Singing (5pm)or Judo (7pm) on Tuesdays, Computer club for older people (11-3)or Film club (3pm) on Wednesdays, Professional Video, 1 – 7or Yoga, 7pm on Thursdays & on Fridays: Sewing & Social Club 1 – 3,or Life Drawing, 6.30
NEW FROM SATURDAY 3rd FEBRUARY: Holly Lodge residents are warmly invited to use the Community Centre facilities on Saturday mornings, 10 – 1. Computers, washing machine, sewing machine, light refreshments (Funded initially until the end of March by Holly Lodge Community Association, donations welcomed)
COMPUTER ROOM: People who use the room are reminded that it is funded for people to gain computer and other skills. Learners (studying specific subjects, which need not be IT) therefore have priority at all times. Older learners have priority Wednesdays 10-3, Video class members have exclusive use Thursdays after 1pm, as do members of the Mondays & Tuesdays 4-7pm Learning Adviser-led sessions. Confused? The timetable overleaf will help.
Half-term holiday scheme at the Family Centre (19th-23rd Feb, 10 – 4, for five-to-ten-yr-olds) is already well-booked. Please ring soon if you are interested
The Centre has to change with the times, local demographics and with changes in the Council’s funding strategy. We hope you will continue to support your Centre, and to feed in your comments and suggestions as well as, (volunteers), your time and expertise so generously given.
